Project Description

  • Modularize end-to-end drug manufacturing mini plants, focusing on process intensification and improving product yield.
  • Investigate polymorphic transformation using a systematic design of experiments (DoE) combined with population balance modeling (PBM)

    Experience

    • • Turkish Petroleum Refineries Corporation (TUPRAS), Turkey January 2019-October 2020
      Process Supervisor | Start-Up Mentor
    • • Led test runs for HVGO yield improvement to meet IMO 2020 regulations.
    • • Spearheaded process intensification projects during turnaround periods, resulting in a 12-point Energy Intensity Index (EII) improvement and the successful startups of three CDU/VDU units.
    • • Managed digitalization efforts for CDU/VDU and developed dynamic KPI dashboards.
    • • Oversaw three data analysis projects focused on predicting bitumen penetration, applying predictive maintenance using remaining useful lifetime (RUL), and forecasting LPG product pool quality based on crude oil blends and operation parameters.
    • • Turkish Petroleum Refineries Corporation (TUPRAS), Turkey March 2016-January 2019
      Process Engineer
    • • Monitored and optimized the product quality and energy efficiency of CDU/VDU of an annual crude oil capacity of 11.3 million tons.
    • • Developed a dynamic tool to track heat exchanger fouling rates, simulated process intensification projects and performed feasibility analysis using Aspen HYSYS.
    • • Led the operations side of process safety studies such as Hazard and Operability (HAZOP), Management of Change (MOC), Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR).
    • • GE Healthcare - Istanbul, Turkey July 2015-December 2015
      Regulatory Affairs - Project Intern
    • • Collaborated with a multinational team to coordinate premarket regulatory activities of medical devices for regulated and unregulated countries in Africa.
    • • Developed a comparison tool for medical device classification rules, which facilitated product search in countries with different regulatory models.
    • • Teaching Assistant, Purdue University
    • CHE 45000 Design and Analysis of Processing Systems Spring 2023
    • • Conducted weekly teaching sessions for 50+ students to instruct them in flowsheet construction and optimization using Aspen Plus.
    • CHE 42000 Process Safety Management & Analysis Fall 2021
    • • Held office hours to assist students with their homework and graded exams for 170 students
